Festival Miami celebrates its 29th continuous season with a dramatic opening night concert featuring distinguished master artist Leon Fleisher conducting the Frost Symphony Orchestra.  The virtuosic program ranges from Ludwig von Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture based on a tragic tale of Roman conquest to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s sweeping Symphony No. 2 evocative of the composer’s flight from his Russian homeland, reflection and resolution.

Festival Miami, the annual music festival that opens the South Florida arts season, provides superior and diverse musical programming each year, while expanding academic opportunities and cultural enrichment to all of South Florida and its visitors. It’s a musical experience no one should miss.

Festival Miami presents between 25 to 30 concerts, master classes, and lectures over a five-week period. Most concerts are during the month of October Each event falls under one of the four unique themes, which include: “Great Performances,” “Jazz and Beyond,” “Creative American Music,” and “Music of the Americas.”

The goal of Festival Miami is to uphold and enhance the Mission Statement of the Frost School of Music by offering opportunities for music enjoyment and personal enrichment to as many residents and visitors of South Florida as possible. As such, Festival Miami strives to provide innovative programming that reaches across the cultural boundaries of the South Florida community.

The community is invited to partake in all that Festival Miami has to offer - from world premieres and symphonic concerts, to chamber music presentations and jazz performances, and much more!
