Nuevo Tango Miami, Part 1 – the first of two “new tango” concerts at Festival Miami 2012 – honors the growing musical legacy of Argentine bandoneón artist and composer Ástor Piazzolla (1921-1992). This adventurous concert features the virtuoso Argentine bandoneonist JP Jofre in a compelling nuevo tango concert that fuses the romance and rhythms of a Piazzolla-inspired tango quintet with renowned chamber music artists from Frost.
