Two of the area’s best youth orchestras discover the amazing creative flashpoint that occurs when up-and-coming young artists have the opportunity to meet and work with established composers! Festival Miami serves up a dynamic concert showcasing the Greater Miami Youth Symphony and the South Florida Youth Symphony as they perform new contemporary classical works. The Greater Miami Youth Symphony (GMYS) interfaces with Frost faculty composers Dorothy Hindman and Lansing McLoskey, and the South Florida Youth Symphony (SFYS) explores works by Charles Mason and Lawrence Moore. To close the concert, both youth symphonies combine forces to premiere a new work for double orchestra by faculty master composer Dennis Kam.
