Aventura's new series "First Person Singular: Adventures in Solo Storytelling" continues with "Where There's Smoke, There's Dinner: Stories of a Seared Childhood" featuring Regi Carpenter.
Family: Is it a recipe for disaster, or comfort food? St. Lawrence River rat Regi Carpenter gleans stories from four generations of her eccentric family and her roots in Clayton, New York. Similar to the river itself, her stories run a swift course of original, poignant, heartbreaking and side-splitting. A featured teller at the prestigious National Storytelling Festival, the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, the Ojai and others, she was awarded the JJ Reneaux award by the National Storytelling Network.
