Performing at Miramar Cultural Center (Oct 14 - Oct 14)
Ballet Etudes of South Florida is proud to present its annual Hispanic Heritage Gala for the first time at the Miramar Cultural Center. This year's Gala features the world premiere of an original take on a ballet favorite, Carmen, choreographed by Peter La Fox and starring Dagmar Moradillos and international guest artists. The program is rounded out by original works evoking diverse aspects of Hispanic culture from Mexico to Argentina and Cuba. Another highlight of the evening will be Alberto Mendez's Munecos, performed by Puerto Rico's Marena Perez and Odemar Ocasio.
The Miramar Cultural Center / ArtsPark was created to celebrate creativity and diversity within the city. This landmark is a vibrant, urban destination located in the heart of the Miramar Town Center, situated adjacent to our City Hall. Centrally located, the Center is visible and accessible from Red Road, Miramar Boulevard, and Hiatus Road.
The Center consists of an 800-seat theater, two art galleries, banquet and facilities, a full-service kitchen, rehearsal halls, classrooms, a botanical garden, and more. Within walking distance, you will find a main library, shops, restaurants, and fitness center. It is the perfect place to see a live performance, enjoy a day of family fun, have a meal, attend a lecture, or stroll through the galleries.
Cultural arts remains the door that opens a child’s mind to a wealth of experiences. Nostalgia happens when you paint your first masterpiece or memorize your part in a play. Those memories will last a lifetime
