Last Call

Performing at Broward Center for the Performing Arts - Amaturo Theater (Oct 25 - Oct 28)

Synopsis

Actress, stand-up comedian and world-class bartender Terri Girvin pours out her poignant story in Last Call, an autobiographical one-person tour-de-force. Taking place during a hectic shift at the NYC bar where Terri works, two worlds collide when her needy, quirky customers fight for her attention as she deals with her own personal dramas, which include a barrage of desperate phone calls from her self-medicating, elderly mother.

Tony-nominated director Michael Leeds and GRAMMY®-nominated sound designer Phil Pallazzolo bring the evening to life with an intricate interplay of dialogue, action and sound bites that create the very real illusion of your favorite neighborhood watering hall filling up for the night with a wild cast of regulars, drunks, lechers and characters who she rings up, throws out and manages with the skill of a master choreographer. An engaging storyteller with quick wit and sharp tongue, Girvin's Last Call covers the spectrum of human emotion including the the growing problem facing boomers who must now become parent their own aging parents.

"Terri Girvin's funny and touching tour through the interior life of someone people take for granted is a modest gem worthy of dropping in." -Bill Hirschman, Florida Theater On Stage

"By turns funny, touching and sad, Girvin flips the script on the typical bartender-customer relationship, in a good way. This time, the bartender is the one telling the stories." -Christine Dolen, The Miami Herald

"Terri Girvin is fantastically charismatic and manages to completely capture her audience from the moment she steps on to the stage." -The Edge Miami
