This musical revue will have you ‘tapping your feet, clapping your hands and leaving the theater humming and smiling. Starting at the root of the river the first act launches off with ‘musical numbers ranging from African chants and spirituals to Delta and Chicago blues, with plenty of stops along the dusty roads, river banks, broken country hearts and juke joints in between, is more than a musical feast. This sizzling revue of the blues and blues infused songs that changed the way the world hears the human heartbeat will take Miami by a storm.’
The M Ensemble Company has been a local cultural treasure in the Miami-Dade County community for 39 years. The M Ensemble Company is the oldest African American regional theatre company in the State of Florida and the oldest in Miami-Dade County. The Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs Council has classified the company as an emerging Major Cultural Institution. The company produces a four play season with plays reflecting the African American experience. The M Ensemble is committed to bringing quality productions with a collaborative partnership with local and national actors, directors, and playwrights for cultural excellence.
