The luminous Grammy Award winning soprano Hila Plitmann joins director of bands Gary Green and the Frost Wind Ensemble for a concert of epic proportions beginning with Michael Daugherty’s Labyrinth of Love. Inspired by poems and prose by eight women spanning 2000 years (including actress Elizabeth Taylor), the texts and musical landscape are full of desire, longing, ecstasy, irony, tenderness, despair, hope, sadness and humor. The concert also features Modest Mussorgsky’s vivid Pictures at an Exhibition, transcribed for wind ensemble by Merlin Patterson in a rich and colorful indulgence featuring over 100 winds and percussion from both the Frost Wind Ensemble and Frost Symphonic Winds.
