Vince Mendoza, composer, guest conductor
Composer/orchestrator/arranger Vince Mendoza has earned six Grammy Awards and 25 Grammy nominations with such artists as Björk, Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Bobby McFerrin, Sting and Joni Mitchell. His music is often described as abstract impressionism—a sophisticated blend of chamber music and jazz, a la Gil Evans. Here, Mendoza pairs up with the Frost Concert Jazz Band and the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra for an amazing concert of original works in both big band and full orchestral settings including Otoño, Ojos, Partido Alto, Miracle Child, Beauty and Sadness, Sanctus and more.
