Wil Shriner

Performing at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center (Nov 2 - Nov 2)

Runtime: 1 Hour 45 Minutes

Synopsis

Wil Shriner loves to make people laugh and, after years behind the camera, has decided to return to the comedy stages where his career began.
Wil started on TV at age one doing commercials with father, TV humorist Herb Shriner. He attended famed UCLA Film and TV program where he learned from the greats how to entertain. As a stand up comedian in Los Angeles, Wil proved himself at the Improvisation and the Comedy Store where he met David Letterman, who hired him to write and perform on his show. After multiple appearances on the Tonight Show with Dave, Jay Leno and the legend Johnny Carson, Wil was tapped to host his own national talk show and was recognized with three Emmy nominations. Wil has made over 50 TV appearances with his stand up comedy act sharing the stage with the likes of Joan Rivers, Jeff Foxworthy, Kevin Nealon, Loretta Lynn, Tom Jones, Bobby Collins, Neil Sedaka, Tony Bennett and Jerry Seinfeld.
Wil has been fortunate to wear many hats (and a few sun dresses) in show business. As an Actor, he co-starred in the Oscar nominated film "Peggy Sue Got Married" directed by his idol Francis Ford Coppola. Wil was a Director for top hit sitcoms including "Frasier," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Becker", "Norm", and "the Gilmore Girls.", and he returned to his home state of Florida to produce, write and direct the feature film "Hoot" based on Carl Hiaasen's award winning book.
His clean, clever and off beat take on life continues to entertain audiences on television, in top venues from coast to coast, and on radio with his current weekly spot Tuesdays with the Paul and Young Ron show 105.9 FM.
