Synopsis

Julie Johnson is a dramedy. Julie is an undereducated woman living with her husband and children in Hoboken, NJ, when she decide she "don't wanna be stupid no more." After she kicks out her abusive husband (we never see this character) and goes back to school, she uncovers untapped talents and discovers an unexplored interest in her best friend, Claire. Julie Johnson is an inspiring story of love and courage told with lots of heart and humor.

 Julie Johnson runs from January 16 through February 9, 2014. Preview performance on January 16 at 8pm. Opening night is January 17 at 8pm . Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 5pm. (There are no performances on January 25 or 30.) All performances are at Galleria Studio Theatre located in the Galleria Mall (also known as The Fort Lauderdale Children’s Theatre), 2542B E Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304.

Directions to Galleria Studio: located in the Galleria Mall. From 95 take Sunrise Blvd. East (past US1/Federal Hwy) all the way to Bayview Drive. Take a right on Bayview Drive heading South. Go under the overpass of the mall and make your first left. Then take the outdoor ramp, which is on your right, up into the LIME garage parking. Go to LEVEL 3 and park in section 3J or 3H on Eastern most side of garage. Enter the mall thru glass doors. Theatre is on right side inside the mall. Follow signs to the BOX OFFICE

About Kutumba Theatre Project: www.facebook.com/kutumbatheatreproject   The Beebo Brinker Chronicles is the second production for Kutumba Theatre Project. Kim Ehly, founder of Kutumba Theatre Project,  is a 30 year veteran of the theatre and has worked in film, TV, and theatre in NYC, LA, and South Florida. Kim has a BFA from FAU in Acting/Directing. Baby GirL, KTP’s first outing, received critical acclaim and enjoyed sold out audiences. “Kutumba” has various meanings in many languages and they all resonate with the mission of the Kutumba Theatre Project. Kutumba: to leap, to strut proudly, a unique bond amongst community members, family or kin. Kutumba Theatre Project is a collective focusing on works and the development of works that give a voice to the LGBT community, women's interests, and other underserved communities.
