Property Line
Performing at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center (Apr 13 - Apr 15)
Synopsis
|
In this relevant and funny play about real estate and territorial instinct, two long-time friends and neighbors are at war over 15 feet of green grass on waterfront property. Shadow Interpreted Theater utilizes specially trained American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters who perform as shadows during a live stage production alongside voiced actors. Shadow Actors are integrated in the performance by mirroring the Property Line voiced actors, while interpreting the character they are shadowing in ASL. In this way, all audience members can enjoy the full richness of the theater experience rather than having to watch a single interpreter located off stage, and thereby missing much of the action taking place on stage. This is a cutting-edge arts offering that makes the arts accessible, genuine and fully enriching for all audiences. |
The Shadow Interpreted Theater Program and Open Access Theater Series are made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. This program is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. Art Works.
