Jazz Master Eddie Palmieri, known for his charismatic power and bold innovative drive, has a musical career that spans over 50 years as a bandleader of Salsa and Latin Jazz orchestras. With a discography that includes 36 titles, Palmieri has been awarded Nine Grammy Awards. He has been called, "The Sun of Latin Music" The mark he's carved on the history of Latin music goes unquestioned. Part icon and part perfectionist, elder statesman Palmieri is, without a doubt, the consummate musician.

The new South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) is a world-class, multi-disciplinary performing arts center in the heart of the Town of Cutler Bay. The $51 million Center celebrates its grand opening in October 2011.
The Center is managed by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, with funding support from the Office of the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. SMDCAC is dedicated to presenting and supporting arts and culture and providing access to the arts to the entire Miami-Dade County community.
