The Broward Center presents Blue Suede Shoes - Love Me Tender: The Ultimate Elvis Show featuring Scot Bruce and Mike Albert Sunday, February17 at 7 p.m. at the Parker Playhouse. Bruce who pays tribute to a young Elvis, is joined by Albert, who is acclaimed around the globe as "the world's finest Elvis impressionist" for his performances with the Big “E” Band. It’s an evening boiling over with many of the hit songs made famous by the legendary entertainer such as "Blue Suede Shoes," "Heartbreak Hotel," "Burning Love," "Love Me Tender" and "Jail House Rock."
The Parker Playhouse curtain rose for the first time on February 6, 1967. One of Fort Lauderdale’s first venues, the neo-classical Playhouse, was built by Dr. Louis Parker and is managed now by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This 1,167-seat fully equipped theater plays an important role in the community by serving as a vibrant part of the area. Parker Playhouse helps fuel economic development while also bringing the community together with performances, activities and educational programming.
