One of the world's foremost chamber orchestras, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields will perform on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Au-Rene Theater with cellist Alisa Weilerstein and pianist Inon Barnatan. The program will include: Britten's "Simple Symphony, Op. 4;" Haydn's "Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major, Op. 101;" Bach's "Piano Concerto No. 5 in F minor;" and Mozart's "Symphony No. 40 in G minor." With a mission to uniquely interpret classical music in a fresh and vibrant way, the Academy has more than 500 recordings and is one of the most recorded chamber orchestras in the world with several Billboard chart-toppers. Its album “Romance of the Violin,” which was named Billboard Classical CD of the Year in 2004 and “Vivaldi’s Four Seasons,” reached number one on the Classical Chart in 2007.
