Florida Grand Opera is presenting it's 71st season of grand opera in South Florida. It is the seventh oldest opera company in the United States and has the seventh largest audience size of all opera companies in the country. In addition to the tens of thousands of patrons who live in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, FGO has ticket buyers from thirty-nine other States plus Washington DC, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Florida Grand Opera also sells tickets to patrons living in thirty-one countries in addition to the United States. We perform at two world-class theaters: In Miami at Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, and in Fort Lauderdale at Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
Our 2011-12 Season features two company firsts-our first presentation of a zarzuela, Tobboba's Luisa Fernanda; and our first production of Puccini's La rondine. The season continues with Verdi's Rigoletto, one of the most thrilling operas ever staged, and concludes with the passionate yet tragic Romeo et Juliette by Gounod. You'll want to see every glorious moment and hear every magnificent note of world-class opera.
