Mad Cat Theatre Company, Inc. @ Miami Theatre Center

Description

Mad Cat Theatre Company is pleased to present Centralia written by  Superbolt Theatre. Mad Cat’s Artistic Director, Paul Tei first became aware of Superbolt Theatre in the summer of 2012 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival when Mad Cat’s production of Going Green the Wong Way, by Kristina Wong was also being presented.

About Centralia:  In the 1960’s an underground coal fire was sparked by an accident.  20 years later the fire was still burning and the inhabitants of Centralia were forced to relocate. Three people refused to leave. Inspired by this true story, Centralia sees the three remaining inhabitants travel the globe to tell the world their story.  Using a mixture of comedy, cabaret, dance and music, this brave new play explores the relationships that can only be formed through this unique disaster.

Our Mission:

Born in 2000, Mad Cat Theatre Company’s mission is to provide theatre that provokes its audience to re-imagine its surrounding world.  To promote debate by creating work that illuminates the darker regions of our mental and emotional landscape.  To sniff out and ultimately create brazen stories that explore the hypermodernity of society.  Mad Cat Theatre Company is committed to deconstructing itself and its environment through original works, adaptations, multi-media, live music, dance, puppetry and poetry.
