Performing at Empire Stage (Jan 12 - Jan 22)

Runtime: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

Comic Sheba Mason (Jackie Mason's daughter) stars as a transgender hooker in this story of love, lust, ex-wives, and mistaken identity, which collide in this rambunctious and hilarious musical-comedy boasting an original score of twelve melodic songs at Empire Stage in Fort Lauderdale.  Mel Schwartz Sleeps With Mae West is the story of an over-libidinous middle-aged man living in Miami Beach in 1986 who is stunned to discover that his beautiful mistress of the past five years used to be a man!  If that wasn't enough, it turns out his transgender mistress is actually the long-lost child of his lifelong friend, Milty. When Milty finds out that his son is now a daughter and that Mel's been shtupping her, chaos ensues.

Peter Librach stars as Mel Schwartz in this fun new raunchy  show penned by Ginger Jean Reiter (The Jackie Mason Musical, Solomon’s 700 Wives the Musical), and features David R. Gordon as Milty, Canadian singing sensation Cherrill Rae as Ruthy, South Florida treasure Jerry Weinberg as Lester, and Ginger Reiter,  as Mae West. The musical’s original score,  written by Ginger Reiter, includes the raunchy  “Shtupping Your Daughter”, and “Boney-Assed Whore” as well as the poignant “Call It Love”.  AroundTown News calls it a "Belly-Laughing Blast". Triton Talent  presents Both Sides of a Famous Love Affair:The Jackie Mason Musical!

Both Sides of a Famous Love Affair:The Jackie Mason Musical begins  at a deli in Miami in 1977, where Jackie – a renown 46 year old Comedian,(played by David R. Gordon),  spots twenty-something Ginger (played by Jackie’s own daughter – comedian Sheba Mason). Along for the ride is her overbearing mom, Mrs. Olivier, (Cherrill Rae),  and a hilarious cast of six. Soon Jackie is wooing her each winter whenever he’s in South Florida churning up laughs with the South Beach set. The trouble is, Jackie is also wooing  Trixie (Yanet Felipe) - a ravishing young Latina Rascal House server,  and Rosa (Fern Katz)- a "mature" Rascal House server with attitude - a fact that sends Ginger into romantic distress.  After 10 years, she becomes pregnant, Jackie denies his paternity, while still yearning to be with her, and a complicated relationship begins, including Sheba’s own love for the man she knows is her father and whom she wishes she knew.  Rounding out the cast are Scott Travis as Wooley the Schlepalong, and Johnbarry Green as Nelson Zee.  The Original Score  includes “Ode to the Early Bird Special” and “I Never Met This Yenta”, written by Ginger Reiter, the girl in the eye of the comedic storm, who also produces and directs the show.
